The presidents of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, and Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, signed 25 new bilateral cooperation agreements during Raisi's visit to Caracas as part of his tour of Latin America.

"We have signed 25 agreements and at this moment new agreements for new investments are still being negotiated," Maduro said, noting that "Iran and Venezuela are united, and we will be increasingly united in building economic prosperity."

The Iranian president said that both nations have "strategic interests, our cooperation is deep and strategic." Raisi warned that currently both nations have "common enemies, who do not want our sovereignty or our independence."
According to the president, two years ago trade exchange between the two countries was close to $600 million, now it is around $3 billion, and the goal for the near future is to reach $10 billion.
