Russian mercenaries seized control of Rostov-on-Don, Russia's second largest grain producing region and home to the Don river ports which connect vessels exporting grain with the Azov Sea. The risk of supply chain disruptions increased, complicating a global commodities market already stretched thin because of the pandemic. The rebellion also increases the risk of increased regulation, both globally and within Russia.
