Su reflected on the success of EPYC, which has grown dramatically since its launch in 2017. "EPYC is now the industry standard in the cloud," she said. "Every major cloud provider has deployed EPYC for their internal workloads."
Speaking about their latest EPYC Genoa processors, she stated, "Genoa is still by far the highest performance and the most efficient processor in the industry." The Genoa processors deliver 1.8 times more performance and are up to 1.9 times faster for Java, virtualization, or ERP workloads, she added.
Su also emphasized the significance of sustainability in modern data centers, noting, "energy consumption has become just as important as overall performance." In response to this need, she said that "Fourth Gen EPYC delivers up to 1.8 times more performance per watt."
"Genoa is by far the best choice for anybody who cares about sustainability," Su noted, touting its benefits for those looking to update their data centers.
The majority of AI workloads, she said, are currently run on CPUs. "Genoa is also the best CPU for AI," Su stated.
