STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- If you were a '70s kid who grew up fearing McDonald's not-so-evil, milkshake-stealing character Grimace, you'll probably get a kick out of the fast-food giant's latest marketing campaign. In an effort to sell a little bit of nostalgia with their nuggets, the chain has resurrected the famous McDonaldland character, and is now offering a gooey purple shake in the ambiguous personality's honor.

Launched on June 12 (Grimace's birthday), the shake is berry-flavored -- according to a number of social media reviews -- and can only be purchased in the form of a meal. McDonald's noted the limited-edition shake is inspired by Grimace's iconic color and sweetness. Customers can customize their order with a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken McNuggets; fries are also included, and depending on size, the meal will cost between $10.29 and $11.89.
